Already have a Background Check?

If you already have a valid Enhanced DBS check (no older than 12 months) please upload your DBS check along with one form of photo ID (e.g. passport or driving licence) to verify the document. If your DBS is older than 12 months but on the update service, please add your DBS reference number in the "ID Number 2" section on the form.

Applying for a DBS Background Check

Please note if you have a non-UK passport please send your right to work share code to dbs@gostudent.org before proceeding with your application. You can find this here.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the current address you enter in your application must be the address you are registered as living at. This address should also be reflected in the ID you send us. All ID submitted should match your current address. If you are living in university accommodation but are registered as living at your home address please put your home address as your current and your university as an additional address.

In order to apply for a DBS Background Check, follow the steps below.

Please complete the following steps, in order to apply for a DBS Background Check:

1. Visit the Checks Direct application portal.

2. Register for an enhanced DBS background check by completing the application registration form with forename, surname, date of birth, email, address and enter the organisation PIN Code. PIN Code: 67298

3. Press 'Proceed' and then enter the organisation passphrase. Passphrase: APPLICANTPAY

4. Once you have paid for your application please upload three forms of acceptable ID using the submission form above. Your application will not process without this step. 

Please note, once you have completed three sessions on the platform, you will be reimbursed the cost of the check (£49.00). This will show as an adjustment in your earnings the following month.
